Enarau Conservation is built on the foundation of science-based decision-making. Our Research and Biodiversity Center serves as a critical scientific hub, a conservation education facility, and a platform for protecting biodiversity within the Greater Maasai Mara ecosystem. We are committed to generating the data and knowledge necessary to drive adaptive, effective conservation strategies.

Our Core Research Pillars

We utilize cutting-edge technology and global partnerships to operate as a “living laboratory”:

Biodiversity Monitoring

We track elusive species, including leopards and caracals, using an extensive grid of acoustic recorders and camera traps.

Restoration Science

In partnership with Nottingham Trent University and CERK, we monitor soil infiltration, vegetation density, and woodland health through the Land Degradation Surveillance Framework (LDSF).

Global Collaboration: Through strategic partnerships with the Smithsonian Institute and NASA, we conduct high-resolution wildlife and livestock density monitoring to inform global ecological restoration models.

Infrastructure for field preparation, research gear maintenance, and outdoor observational areas, including nature trails and weather monitoring stations.
